MODULATIONS
(see below for full recording and teasers)
MOODDDU͠UUL͢LLḀΛΛT†͇TÌ̲Í̳ĮÖ̪Ø̜Ø̻NŇϞ§̼$̶Ş is a paradoxical & irresistible music performance that invites the listener to experience the transformations of the posthuman voice. The piece was created between January and May 2025, during a period when the order of the world was shifting so rapidly that the only way to grasp it felt like translating that instability into a deliberately chaotic work.
The performance was inspired by the research of Salomėja Petronytė, encountered during the creation process through her PhD research The Antithesis of Voice in a State of Contemporaneity. It became the conceptual spine of the piece and shaped all seven of its sections.
Throughout the performance, multiple forms of modulation unfold: harmonic modulatino; shifts in speaking style, modulations of meaning (I scream / ice cream); a gradual transition of a real human voice into an instrument, and many others.
